After years of strong growth, 2023 was a year of consolidation. Turnover was just below the previous year’s level (- 4.3% to around 3.65 billion euros). Festo continued to invest heavily in research and development and the expansion of regional market supply. The company sees good opportunities for growth again in the medium term. How can the industrial transformation be achieved at an acceptable cost? What ecological innovations can industry expect in the coming years? Automation provides answers to these questions. Festo has come up with many solutions for electromobility, green hydrogen and bioreactors. 

At the award ceremony on 23 November in Düsseldorf, Festo was presented with the German Sustainability Award (DNP) in the hydraulics, pumps and compressors category. The DNP is based on the goals of the German government's Agenda 2030 and thus on key areas of transformation such as climate, biodiversity, resources, supply chain and society. Festo was also recently named a successful practice company in the field of sustainability by RWTH Aachen University and the Complexity Management Academy.

The production of tyres and the production of wafers seem to have absolutely nothing to do with each other. In terms of automation technology, however, they use the same technology: Controlled Pneumatics. That is why Festo has further developed compressed air technology to make pneumatics sustainable, resource-saving and energy-efficient.
